Today I receieved a thank you letter a psoster and a news paper article about the film festival I was in Red Fork College in Tulsa Oklahoma. It was a thank you letter hand signed by a fellow native american. I recieved it at the end of Jaunuary 2008 the festival took place in 2006.
You see this makes sense to me as I am we natives are on "INDIAN TIME" slow to make changes slow in doing things slow in terms of the speed of people of the western world and other cultures.
Easy does it for the Native speed and haste make waste...just look at the world. And yet people want me to make quick decitions and move quicker. Some genetic code inside of me says everything is going Too fast please slow it down...but to most people no one understands this except other Natives.
What do you think?

In Costa Rica, this is known as "Tico Time". To the ticos, arriving three hours after the scheduled time to meet is considered 'on time'.

In Brazil is like in Costa Rica too, we say 3 and we come at 5 or 6 but at the same time everything is fast and laid back, mellow and active if you know what I mean, Latin America is like that as we are mixed and we have both sides but still we do know, we are masters in how to take our time to live life and enjoy it, we are not really in a rush at it seems, I am from Rio, african, indians and portuguese cultures side by side...maybe Kalona has not met this lady personally as to find out more about those apparent contradictions and timing in real time as she could be fast and laid back as I know most brazilians are but that is what makes our culture this miscegenation, this mix... I personally have some native american friends and when they and we brazilians get together we fit our timing really good...

Yes I agree, respect for each other's culture is fundamental in this world we live in, as everything around us is falling apart. My deepest respect for all the native american nations that make this country so much more interesting and rich and all my deepest respect for you too Kalona brother, grateful to be able to find out so much about the indigeonous american people as this nation would be much less rich culturally without them!
